A Tribute To A Beautiful Baby

I wanted to share this video with you as a tribute to a little baby girl. Her name is Gabby and her mother and I emailed back and forth several times concerning Gabby's open heart surgery. Gabby had Down syndrome as well as an AV canal heart defect (the same one Bennett had). Sadly, at just 4 months old, sweet Gabby passed away shorty after her surgery due to complications. This is the beautiful video her mother made to share with others. Please take a look, Gabby was such a beautiful little girl and I know she's sitting in Jesus' lap right now, smiling down. But I know she is missed terribly.

  6. I am here thru Our Unexpected Journey.

Years ago, I used to be a special ed teacher; my favorite students were those with Down syndrome.

Years after I stopped teaching, I learned firsthand what it was like to be a 'special' parent. Our third baby, Jeffrey, was diagnosed at 2 months with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a progressive neuromuscular/motor neuron disease. Reeling, we were told it was rare (we learned after he earned his wings that SMA is the leading genetic cause of death of children under two).

I know that Jeffrey is in the perfect place, no doubt having a grand time showing your beautiful Gabby around :)

Many hugs to you as you strive to share her story and help others. You are making a difference, and Gabby is beaming....

  9. Gabby is beautiful! So sad to lose a child. Such a sad thing for the doctors to say. Our new healthcare bill has so many unGodly things in it... sounds like Gabby's doctors had a hand in writing it. :(
